Reproduction Specialist

Kirk Esmond DVM
Dr. Kirk Esmond established the Josey Ranch Pet Hospital in December 1991. Kirk had previously worked in Carrollton since he graduated from Texas A&M University. Dr. Esmond's love of medicine and dedication to his clients and patients has allowed for the rapid growth and expansion of JRPH. He prides himself on the quality level of progressive, state of the art medicine his office provides the community.

He received his B.S. in Animal Science from TAMU in 1983, his B.S. in Veterinary Science in 1985, and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1987. Dr. Esmond developed his strong interest in veterinary medicine early in his childhood from his involvement with 4-H livestock and with family pets.

He has been involved in some capacity with the breeding and showing of AKC registered dogs for the last 29 years. This interest in breeding led to his becoming an affiliated veterinarian with International Canine Genetics 16 years ago. In 1997 he opened the only North Texas canine semen freezing center here at JRPH.

Dr. Esmond is currently a member of the Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association, the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinarian Medical Association and the Society for Theriogenology (SFT). He attends the annual continuing education symposium for the SFT to further his knowledge and interest in reproduction. He is an owner of the North Texas Pet Emergency Clinic and is the current past president of its veterinary board of directors. Dr. Esmond gives tours of his hospital to local schools and churches and has spoken at all grade levels within our school system. He also enjoys speaking to local and all breed dog clubs.

Dr. Esmond currently lives in Bartonville with his partner of 14 years. In his spare time he raises sheep and provides lambs to FFA and 4-H youth for exhibition at statewide market lamb shows. He enjoys traveling, yard work, his livestock, and cycling. He has two cats, a dog, a pot-bellied pig, 2 goats and about 12 sheep.

Dr. Tucker is both anxious and excited as he continues his pursuit of establishing, owning, and operating a veterinary clinic that meets his standards of pet and client care. As a local Frisco resident, he embarks upon this journey with the utmost pride in providing only the very best in veterinary medicine to his clients, family, and neighbors.

Dr. Tucker graduated from Plano East Senior High School in 1994. Undergraduate studies were completed at Texas Tech University and he is happy to declare himself a dedicated Red Raider. While attending school in Lubbock, he met his wife Lisa, who is also the practice administrator here at Frisco West. They graduated in 1998 and returned to Dallas where they began teaching in the south Dallas suburb of Duncanville. College Station came calling one year later and Dr. Tucker and Lisa headed south to begin veterinary school over the summer of 1999. After four great years in Aggieland Dr. Tucker graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors and returned to the north Dallas area with Lisa and their young daughter Alexis.

Dr. Tucker was fortunate to practice in a progressive small animal practice in Plano where he was able to grow as a practitioner and foster the mindset of becoming a veterinary clinic owner himself.

After six and a half years, Dr. Tucker felt the time was right to pursue his dream and bring Frisco West Animal Medical Center to the community in which he resides.

The Tucker family includes Chris, Lisa, Alexis, Reid, their older child Sydney (Shepherd Mix),  two Shih Tzu's named Riggs and Axel, two fish, two leopard geckos, one pacman frog, one skink, and one anole. Life for the Tuckers is like that of most Frisco residents, busy with school, sports, birthday parties, business, teaching, and life in general. With all that life entails, the Tuckers pride themselves on being able to focus on those things that are most important, primarily just spending time together. Their favorite activities are boating and water sports any time the sun is shining. Dr. Tucker’s other interests include golf, running, and college football.

We Endorse & Support...
"...In addition to taking pleasure in being around kids, Larry is also great with other dogs, interacting equally well with both large and small breeds. He is such an amazing dog; we are looking forward to many, many years of companionship with him. He was definitely worth the wait!"
~ Jamie and Lisa Walter, Jackson, Wyoming
"Barney  just finished his first puppy class, and has mastered 'sit' and 'down', and is really doing well on 'leave it'. He's also learning to 'heel' and 'go play' when he walks with Jack and Maggie...We're SO glad it worked out for us to get him. We look forward to a lot more fun ahead, and staying connected."
~ John, Tim, Maggie, Jack & Barney, Dallas, TX
